Our second year in B Section.
The Daley Oval at Bulleen was unavailable, so we moved to St James Park in Hawthorn.
Paul Bunting continued as president but retired during the year and was succeeded by Rob Stanley who would go on to hold that position for a record breaking nine years.
1988 was a better year than 1987. We were safe from relegation, but the year was hard work, and the ultimate prize of a return to A Section still looked out of our reach. The Firsts were in 7th position at both the half-way mark (3-5-1) and at season’s end (6-11-1). The Reserves were 10th at both junctures finishing with 3 wins and 15 losses.
