And so, we returned to B Section in 1987 – a stellar achievement to ascend from E Section faster than we had fallen!
Dave O’Shaughnessy assumed the captaincy - Dave was already a three-time senior best & fairest winner and a state representative.
B Section proved to be a tougher nut to crack. Things were looking wobbly after nine rounds with Firsts in 8th position with only 3 wins and 6 losses. The Reserves were 9th at 3-6. Things only improved slightly and Trinity had to win the last game to guarantee they would stay in B Section. They did that, with a convincing five goal win over Old Ivanhoe, finishing the season 7th with 6 wins and 12 losses. The Reserves languished at 10th with only 4 wins.
