Dave Rogers won the VAFA B Section Best and Fairest.
After frustratingly missing promotion in 1991 we saddled up in B Section yet again – our sixth year in that section. Undaunted by the disappointment in 1991, at the halfway mark the Firsts were 2nd (6-3) and the Reserves 3rd (7-2). The U19s were 8th (4-5). At the end of the home and away games, the Firsts had slipped to 3rd with 12 wins and 6 losses. The Reserves stormed home to finish 1st (15-2-1). The U19s ended up 6th (10-8).
By finishing out of the top two, the Firsts would have to do it the hard way. They would have to win two finals to earn promotion, and three to win the premiership.
In the first semi-final they had an emphatic victory over Whitefriars:

And, in a low scoring, nail biting, preliminary final we defeated Old Melburnians by 10 points.:

Old Trinity had earned a return to A Section for the first time since 1977 – fifteen long years!
To cap the season off, the Firsts defeated Old Brighton in the Grand Final in another close game.

Could the Reserves make it a clean sweep? Close finishes were the name of the game. An inaccurate Trinity narrowly triumphed over Old Brighton in their second semi-final.

However, in another nail biting, incredibly low scoring grand final, Old Brighton got their revenge.
